At the North Street Cabaret in Madison, WI is a Variety Open Mic hosted by polymath performer Michael Hollywood (coincidentally enough). Poets, Storytellers, Standup Comics, Musicians, Dancers, and all and sundry forms of performance are welcome. A nurturing space for performers and an extremely entertaining time for spectators. "Universal Liberation through Creative Self-Actualization" is Hollywood's motto and a rocking good time for all is his goal. The next hootenanny “The First Whiff of Spring Edition” is Wednesday, March 18th.

Wednesday, February 11th. For a special duo treat, try the Sadie Hawkins Improv Show. This show features duos of some of Madison’s best improvisers doing some of Madison’s best long-form improv. Host Megan Detloff invites three of her favorite femme-identifying performers to star, and they each invite their own counterparts for three must-see duo sets. At the end, all players improvise together — with a little Valentine’s Day surprise. That’s right, it’s THEMED!
